“You wouldn’t…” I tested him. He held my phone over the railing of the boardwalk, acting as if about to drop it.

“Oh but I would…” He smirked at me.

“Roxas!” I lunged myself forward at him.

He just started laughing, holding my cell phone high above us.

“Come on Roxas!” I laughed. “Give it back!” I jumped up, trying to grab my phone from his hand that he held high above his head.

“You have to get it!” He teased.

I just backed up and sighed. There was no way I was going to get it back this way.

“Given up already?” He chuckled.

“Please Roxas?” I looked into his eyes. After a short moment they turned soft; gentle.

Just then, his face inched closer to mine, his light blue eyes watching me. I could feel my cheeks start to heat up, like they always do when he stares at me. Our foreheads were resting on one another’s, and he looked into my eyes. I took in a small breath, but didn’t exhale. I had forgotten to breath.

Our lips were only centimeters away. It seemed like I was burning up, which made me even more embarrassed than I already was.

He moved a bit closer, our lips barley brushing. It felt as if I was dazed. “No…” I heard him whisper, his sweet, cool breath gently hitting my face.

Then he gave me a quick, soft peck, and ran. I could hear him laugh as I just stood there, somewhat stunned.

I smiled, unable to wipe it from my face. I watched as he ran, and then I remembered; He still has my phone. Danget, he’s good.

I laughed “Roxas!” I ran after him, my sandals flapping on the boardwalk.

I ran down the steps of the boardwalk down to the sand of the beach. Once I had reached the bottom, I looked up at the top step expecting to see her; though she wasn’t there. Where did she go? I could have sworn she was right behind me.

“Namine!” I called for her.

“Nami-” I turned around to find her right in front of me.

“You’re not the only one with tricks.” She giggled.

I chuckled. “Tricks huh?” I took her cell phone out of my pocket and held it out for her.

“Yes, tricks.” She took her phone from my hand. “What else would you call that back there?” She pointed in the direction where I had kissed her.

I laughed. “A kiss maybe?” I took her hand in my own sheepishly and led her towards the water.

“A distraction, that’s what.” She laughed.

“Well it worked… I think I like distractions.” I smirked.

She just rolled her eyes and giggled.

We sat down on the dry sand, leaning against a large rock, as the water rolled closer to us every time a wave appeared. We watched the clear blue water in silence. There wasn’t a need to fill our time together with talking. All we needed was each others company.

I watched her out of the corner of my eye.

She looked peaceful… And beautiful.

A small breeze swept through, her light blonde hair gently rising and falling onto her shoulders. Her sparkling blue eyes were focused on the waves as they rose and fell, the sun's gentle rays hitting her face.

I smiled to myself in bewilderment, wondering how someone like me was lucky enough to have someone as wonderful as her. I heard her sigh, and then felt her head rest on my shoulder.

I moved closer to her, and put my arm around her, closing the distance between us. I rested my head on hers, listening to the waves and her soft, even breathing.

He held my hand that rested on my waist, and noticed him close his eyes. I just gave a sad smile. Poor guy. He said that he hadn’t slept a wink for three days now. I nuzzled into his shoulder, and sighed gently. Maybe he could get in a little bit of sleep. Besides, I didn’t mind; I was happy where I was. My eyes fluttered shut, and I lay there, relaxed and comfortable.

Right when I thought he had fallen asleep, I suddenly felt him pull me closer. My heart skipped a beat, and I blushed. I looked up at him, and saw a small smile play on his lips, though his eyes were still closed.

“Roxas?” I whispered.

“Hmm?” He answered, eyes still closed.

“You okay?”

“Fine.” He said softly. “Actually…” He sighed. “I don’t think I could be any better.”

I smiled, and once again, I began to blush. I sighed in frustration.  It was no use. He’d always make me blush, no matter how hard I tried.  Every time he just glances at me, I can feel my cheeks start to heat up. He always smiles and laughs.

Just then he sighed.

I looked up at him, his eyes open. They were light blue, and shining as usual. I loved his eyes.

He turned his head and smiled down at me. “I better get you home.”

I sighed and nodded in agreement. “I don’t want to go though…” I trailed off.

“Hmm… Either do I.” He held me tight for a moment and then let go.

He released my hand as he began to sit up, looking out into the water.

It was sunset now. We had spent the whole day on the beach, talking and laughing. I wished that every day could be like this. For a few seconds we watched the calm water, the suns rays reflecting upon it. The sky was now soft shades of violet, red, and orange, making the water look a deeper, darker blue.

He held out his hand for me, his sweet crooked smile appearing on his face. Reluctantly I took it, him pulling me up close to him once again.

As expected, my cheeks almost automatically started going scarlet, and he began to chuckle.

He moved his face closer to mine, staring at me with those shinning blue eyes of his.

“Roxas stop!” She laughed, covering my eyes with one of her hands. I grabbed both of her wrists with one of my hands, and I began laughing, seeing her face turn a deeper red. I moved my face closer to her's.

“Roxas!” She laughed, trying to free her hands from my grip.

I just chuckled and kept staring at her.

Just then she leaned forward only a little bit and gave me a kiss. I wasn’t expecting it, though I was pleased.

Once our lips parted she laughed.

“That’s cheating!” I told her, laughing.

“Says who?” She asked as I let go of one of her hands, lacing my fingers with hers in the other.

“Says me.” I retorted as we began walking towards the steps that lead to the boardwalk.

“You know, distractions aren’t so bad.” She laughed.

“What? No wait a min-” I was cut off when she covered my mouth with her hand. I kept talking, though it only came out as a muffle.

I grabbed her wrist and gently pulled her hand off of my mouth. “Now wait-” I was interrupted by a “Shhh” this time.

I gave her a questioning look and could feel a smile creeping up on me.

“You know you are a very interesting girl.” I laughed.

“How so?” She asked, looking up at me, smiling.

“You never do what I expect.” I said looking forward as we walked along the railing of the boardwalk.

“Hmm…” She said softly. “Is that a bad thing?”

“No… Of course not.” I said looking down at her.

She just smiled.

“You know what I don’t get though?” I thought aloud.

“What?” She asked.

“How did I end up with someone as good as you?” I kept looking forward, knowing if I looked at her I’d surely start turning red.

Just then I felt her arms wrap around me. I just smiled and returned the gesture. She looked up at me and smiled. I smiled back, and moved away a few strands of hair from her eyes, tucking them behind her ear.

She smiled. “Thanks.”

“For what?” I asked, looking at her confused.

“For everything.” She answered.

I smiled. “I love you…”

She gave me a quick kiss. “I love you too.”
